NEW ENGLAND FOUNDation FOR THE ARTS: ndp GRANT FINALIST

Each year, NDP welcomes applications from dance artists, companies, and collectives to invest in the creation/development and U.S* touring/sharing of new dance projects via its NDP Production Grant.

Out of 219 applications, barkha moved forward to finalist round amongst 39 other artists and projects.

NDP Finalists receive $10,000 in unrestricted funding as an expression of NEFA’s belief in their artistic prowess and our desire to support the continued creation/development of their proposed new dance project.

Juried bessie artist award 2023

For elegantly and magnificently creating, educating, and sharing work that elevates classical Indian and Kathak dance. Patel is deeply rooted in her art form’s spiritual and cultural history and is a contemporary voice that will contribute to the evolution of Kathak dance and its place in the dance world at large.
